Clay schist
Many irregularities characterize the surface of this rock: a background texture determined by the contact surfaces between the clay minerals, rusty oxidation patches, and recent fractures that split the fragile and thin silvery ripples.
Fragile and laminated, clay schist breaks easily along the mineral planes. The rust-colored patches are signs of iron oxidation within the clays.
